TMC chief G K Vasan said elections and alliance are different from the party's goals. Addressing media persons at his residence Thursday, he said the alliance with AIADMK and BJP was important for the security of the nation, considering the welfare of the people. Vasan also said the party has been allotted Thanjavur in the AIADMK alliance and he clearly stated that it will contest in the two leaves symbol.
'People believe this alliance will sweep a majority of parliamentary seats. Our alliance assures growth and protection for all the minority and Dalit people in Tamilnadu,' he said. Vasan also heaped praise on the ruling BJP government. 'Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government has taken solid measures to resolve grievances faced by the people of this country,' Vasan said.
Vasan also said TMC's alliance with AIADMK will continue even in the bye-elections to be held in the 18 constituencies, which will be held simultaneously along with the Lok Sabha polls. 'We won't align with parties that don't care to give recognition to our hard work. Even in the 2017 RK Nagar bypolls, we were not part of an alliance that included Congress,' Vasan said.
