Why no place for TN in Modi cabinet?

The grand team of 'Modi, 2.0' did not include even one from TN's ruling party. According to reports, Deputy CM OPS' representation to PM Modi fell through as CM Palaniswami conveyed that OPS' son Raveendranath Kumar is a first-time MP whereas Rajya Sabha MP, while R Vaithilingam is a senior leader and had been a minister in the state.

This is the first time that an elected MP from Tamil Nadu won’t be a part of the central government. From 2014-2019, BJP’s Pon Radhakrishnan was a minister of state for finance and shipping.
Till Thursday night, a senior AIADMK leader had said: "Vaithilingam will join the government though the party is also lobbying for Raveendranath." Raveendranath denied reports that he had received a call to join the Prime Minister's team, saying: "I'm expecting a call".

This seems to be a fallout of the rift between the Paneerselvam and Edapadi Palainiswamy factions in the AIADMK.
