Karnataka police have informed the Karnataka High Court that they were not able to serve notice to self-styled godman Nithyananda as he is on a spiritual tour.
On 31 January, the Karnataka High Court had asked the police to serve notice to Nithyananda in a petition seeking the cancellation of his bail in a rape case filed against him in 2010.
The Deputy Superintendent of Police Balraj B told the court that they could not serve the notice directly to him as he was was not present at his Bidadi ashram and was on a spiritual tour, reports said.
'The police gave notice to his aide Kumari Archananda instead. Kumari Archananda in the court said that she was forced to accept the notice after she told the police that she cannot tell them where Nithyananda is,' reports added
