Well, everyone is happy celebrating the 13 years of Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. The film arrived late than the promised time, but had its enthrallment in theatres in unlimited mode. It was one of the rarest movies that had repeat audiences to the theatres and had an organic run of 100 days. The film was third outing of Gautham Vasudev Menon after Minnale and Kaakha Kaakha. However, do you know what happened the shooting of Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu?
While 50% of the shooting was completed, Kamal Haasan really got somewhere upset as he didn’t understanding the working style of GVM. He was completely puzzled as the director made his character ‘Raghavan’ do nothing majorly other than walking miles and miles. After a certain extent, he flew back to Chennai dropping the shoot. Seventh Channel Manickam, producer of the film approached Sathya Jyothi Films TG Thyagarajan at that point of time as he happens to be a mentor to Kamal Haasan.
Sooner, TG Thyagarajan personally met Kamal Haasan and asked, “What do you think? Does this film look like a success? “ and Kamal Haasan reportedly said that he has no such belief. Then, Thyagarajan sir seemed to have jokingly said, “Then Kamal, no worries. you continue to shoot. The film you think will not be a success in the past are a proven blockbuster.”
Later, during one of the promotional events of ‘Unnai Pol Oruvan’, Kamal Haasan said that he has began a new journey, where he is unlearning his ideologies and grasping the intellectual minds of new directors, he is working with.
Of course, the result was the same as the veteran producer said.
