The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday upheld the ban on Hijab and said that wearing of Hijab is not essential religious practice of Islamic Faith. The Court dismissed writ petitions filed by Muslims girl students seeking permission to wear Hijab in colleges and held prescription of uniform as a reasonable restriction.
