Vellore LS polls : DMK Chief Stalin commences campaign

DMK President M K Stalin on Saturday started his campaign for the August five Vellore Lok Sabha polls. Clad in black and red attire, Mr Stalin covered several areas in the constituency by walk, interacting with the people, sipping tea, posed for photographs with them and canvassed votes for the DMK nomineeKathir Anand, who is the son of party Treasurer Duraimurugan. Several DMKmen accorded him a rousing reception and people alsotook selfies with him. 

After finishing his morning walk, Mr Stalin started his campaign nearthe Uzhavar Sandhai (farmers shandy), inter-acted with the vegetablevendors, traders and publoic and canvassed votes.
Stalin, who would be camapaigning for three days till Monday, wouldbe covering all the Assembly segments coming under the constituency.

He elections were earlier scheduled for April 18, but was rescinded following seizure of cash from the college and godown of Opposition DMK candidate Kathir Anand, who is the son of DMK Treasurer and former Minister Duraimurugan. DMK won 37 of the 38 Lok Sabha seats in the April 18 polls.
