Today two new confirmed cases of coronavirus were reported from India. One of the patient is from New Delhi while the other one is from Telangana, the ministry of health and family welfare said. It said that both the patients are stable and are being closely monitored.
The individual from Delhi has a history of traveling from Italy and is now being treated at RML Hospital while the one from Telangana has a history of traveling from Dubai.
Indians were advised to avoid non-essential travel to Iran, Italy, Korea and Singapore in particular, health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said in a press briefing. Travel restrictions could be imposed, as a precautionary measure, depending on the global evolving scenario.
Coronavirus has infected nearly 90,000 people worldwide and has caused more than 3,000 deaths in China, including 2,912 so far. The rapid spread of coronavirus has raised fears of a pandemic, with the World Health Organization (WHO) on Friday raising its global spread and warning for impact risk to "very high."
