The rebel AMMK led by RK Nagar MLA TTV Dhinakaran will stay away from the local body polls expected next month.
'We will continue the stand of our party general secretary Dhinakaran and will wait till the party gets a permanent election symbol and recognition from Election Commission, AMMK deputy general secretary Rengasamy said.
The party is continuing the process of getting registered with the EC and then the Election Commission must allot a common symbol. Without a common symbol, it will be difficult to field candidates, he added.
