TN's step to empower artisans


The Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited, 'Poompuhar', is organizing 'Crafts Bazaar' a mega handicrafts exhibition at  Kalakshetra Foundation, CERC Campus, Thiruvanmiyur in Chennai, beginning Sunday. An official release said, in an endeavor to honour and benefit the craftsmen and rural artisans of India, Poompuhar's Crafts Bazaar showcases an array of handicraft products including a wide and exotic collection of heritage articles that are available at a special discount price of 10 per cent.

The statement added that hand crafted products like  Brass oil lamps, Bronze Icons, Wood Carvings, Tanjore Art Plates, Tanjore Paintings, Stone carvings, Sculptures, Artificial Jewelry, Brass sheet metal products, Paper mache dolls, Incense and perfumery, Rajasthan paintings, Marble craft items, Madhubani Paintings from Bihar, Wood Carvings from Andhra Pradesh, Lucknow's chikan embroidery thread work, Mangalgiri clothing collection, Pochampalli sarees, Madurai's Sungudi sarees, Bengal cotton sarees, Kalamkari handiworks, Leather products, white metals artifacts and many more gift items from all over India are on display under one roof.
