TN Governor, CM pay rich tributes on Parrikar

Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and other leaders from the state heaped rich praises on Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar who passed away on Sunday. In his message, the Governor said, "The sad demise of Shri Manohar Parrikarji fills me with shock and grief. A gentleman to the core, an able administrator and an intellectual in his own right, Shri Manohar Parrikarji combined in himself the qualities of simplicity, sagacity and magnanimity.

Endowed with impeccable integrity, administrative ability and a charismatic personality he acquitted himself creditably both as the Chief Minister of Goa and as India’s Defence Minister. His demise is a great loss to the nation. I convey my deep condolences and pray to the Almighty God to rest his soul in peace."

Palaniswami, in his condolence message, said, "I was deeply saddened by the demise of Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar. He has the credit of being the first elected Chief Minister from BJP and he has served his post twice there. He also discharged his duties efficiently when he was the Defense Minister and the Member of Parliment. He was an able administrator, hard worker and the one to has good relations with others. It's a great loss for the people of Goa to miss him. I express my condolences to his family and the BJP. Let his soul rest in peace."
