Due to COVID19 outbreak, only 2,000 devotees were allowed to visit Sabarimala on weekdays and 3,000 on Saturdays and Sundays.
Following this, devotees were mandated that only pre-registered online can perform darshan. However, in the last few days, a large number of Ayyappa devotees who have not booked online have come to Sami Darshan. These devotees have been detained on the ground and sent back.
This has caused moral embarrassment to the police involved in this task.In connection with this, Travancore Devasthanam head Vasu has issued a statement saying unbooked devotees will not be allowed inside Sabarimala temple.
Those not booked theough online requested not to visit Sabarimala temple
