A special team of CCB sleuths arrested a man from Avalahalli in the eastern outskirts of Bengaluru, for calling the police control room and informing a terror strike at major cities in south India.
On Friday, Bengaluru police control room received a call from lorry driver Swamy Sundar Murthy informing a terror strike at major cities in south India. As the call turned out to be a hoax, the police traced and arrested him. Seven states, including Tamil Nadu, were put on alert after the Bengaluru police received alert about a possible terror attack on multiple cities and the gathering of a group of terrorists in Ramnathapuram.
Karnataka DG-IGP Neelmani N Raju on Friday wrote to his counterparts in six states and an Union Territory after receiving a warning of terror attacks.
