With Christmas and New Year season, the liquor sales in Tamil Nadu have touched new highs with Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (Tasmac) earning over Rs 450 crore during both the festive celebrations.Despite both the Christmas and New Year’s Eve falling on a weekday, the liquor sales crossed Rs 255 crore on both the days.Remember for Deepavali, TASMAC, run by the state-owned marketing corporation recorded sales to the tune of Rs 330 crore collectively.
