Madhavan, who is making his directorial debut with Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, has now roped in Suriya to play cameo in Tamil version. Suriya readily agreed to be part of the movie when approached by Madhavan. The story is based on the life story of Nambi Narayanan, the space scientist and aerospace engineer, who was falsely charged with espionage and arrested. Later, the charges against him were dismissed and he was declared not guilty.
The story is based on his struggles in which Maddy will reprise Nambi on screen Initially, Anant Mahadevan and Madhavan were supposed to co-direct the film but due to an undisclosed reason, Anant backed out of the project and Madhavan ended up directing the film.
