Sudheesh slams Durai Murugan

DMDK deputy secretary L K Sudheesh today came down heavily on DMK treasurer Durai Murugan for saying that he sent back a DMDK delegation who wanted to team up with DMK instead of the AIADMK because the DMK has no seats left to give. Speaking to reporters in Chennai, he said, "We did not discuss alliance with the DMK yesterday. Durai Murugan is telling lies. Our office-bearers met him for personal reasons."

Stating that Durai Murugan spoke bad about DMK and its leadership to him, the brother-in-law of DMDK supremo Vijayakanth added: "But I will not reveal those things." Sudheesh also said that the talks with the AIADMK and the BJP were completed and announcement on the number of seats and constituencies would be made known in two days. On Wednesday morning, Tamil Nadu deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam announced that DMDK will be part of the alliance, just hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mega rally in Kancheepuram district near Chennai. But the talks continued and Vijayakanth skipped the rally.

Meanwhile, Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker M Thambidurai today said the DMK has insulted the DMDK by stating that the latter is engaged in simultaneous alliance talks with it and the ruling AIADMK.
