Stalin afraid of us: Edappadi Palaniswami

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK co-coordinator Edappadi K Palaniswami has charged that DMK president was rattled by the AIADMK’s mega alliance formed for the Lok Sabha elections and Assembly bypolls. Accusing DMK of applying double standards on Sterlite issue, Palaniswami said that it was the same party that allotted 240 acres of land in Thoothukudi for the expansion of the copper smelter unit and demanded for its closure later.

Accusing the then Industries minister of Stalin for allotting 243 acres of land to Sterlite for its expansion plan, Palaniswami said that Stalin too stated in his speech at the state assembly on May 3,2010 that Sterlite was investing Rs 1,500 crore for its expansion project.

He added: "The then DMK government’s affidavit in favour of the company at the Supreme court resulted in the court approving the functioning of the plant."
