Suriya has started work on his next Soorarai Pottrru. Directed by Sudha Kongara, there were rumours that the movie would be a biopic of Air Deccan Founder GR Gopinath. However, Suriya clarified that this movie will not be a biopic and that the director, impressed with the achievements of GR Gopinath, had adapted his life story with necessary elements for the mainstream big screen film.
The actor also praised Sudha Kongara for waiting nearly three years to begin this project. Soorarai Pottrru has Aparna Balamurali playing the female lead. Music is by GV Prakash Kumar.
