Slipper on CM's vehicle triggers tension

A footwear on the top of the campaign van in which Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami was travelling while campaigning at Orathanadu on Sunday night caused tension in the area. Police suspect some miscreants placed it on the vehicle when it was in the Thanjavur-Pattukottai convoy route. Meanwhile, Palaniswami on Sunday questioned the rationale behind DMK releasing manifesto for bypolls.

"How would DMK fulfil the promises after the bypoll as it is the AIADMK government which is in power. The manifesto for bypoll is a gimmick aimed at garnering votes by creating confusion among the people," he said. "People should vote for stable government at the centre, and for providing that stability they should elect Narendra Modi as Prime Minister again through the April 18 Lok Sabha elections," said he.
