Schools will sure reopen on June 3: Sengottaiyan

Amid reports that the reopening of schools for the fresh academic year would be delayed due to the scorching summer heat, Tamil Nadu school education minister K A Sengottaiyan has said schools will sure be reopened as planned on June 3. Speaking to the media, he refuted the reports which claimed otherwise as false and said there is no change in the government's plan to reopen schools on June 3.

He recently said as many as 15.40 lakh laptops will be distributed by the end of June for students of class 11 and 12 and for class 8, 9 and 10, 13.40 lakh laptops will be distributed by the end of July. The Minister said, “The education system of Tamil Nadu is a model for India as the government distributes 14 essentials including cycle, laptop and bag at free of cost for students of State-owned schools.”
