Sabarimala temple shut as two women enter

Tension gripped Sabarimala Ayyappa temple this morning as two women below 50 years of age entered the famous Ayyappa shrine in the hills in Kerala. Bindu and Kanaka Durga, both in their early 40s, managed to make it to the temple amid opposition at 3.45 am today. A video was released confirming their visit. They were escorted by the police. A group of protesters also appear to be at the spot.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said 'It is a fact that the women entered the shrine. Police are bound to offer protection to anyone wanting to worship at the shrine.'
Following their visit, the temple was shit and parikara pooja was taken up.
