Root shines as England crushes West Indies

Southampton, June 14: Joe Root hit his second century of the tournament after England pace battery tormented the West Indies batsmen to set up a thumping eight-wicket win in their World Cup match here Friday. An elated England skipper Morgan, said, 'It is my back. It is a bit sore at the moment and hopefully it settles down in the next few days. Roy tweaked his hammy and is a bit stiff.

We will see how we pull up in the next 48 hours. I have had a lot of back spasms in the past. It is a matter of 24-48 hours before it settles down, sometimes it gets healed a lot quicker and sometimes it lingers around. Same with Jason's injury. Everybody in our squad is so vital and we don't want any injuries through the tournament but there will inevitably be some. Hopefully there are not too serious. We have had a really good day at the office.'
