Ready to quit party post if charges against me are proved: Durai Murugan

Replying to Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami’s comment on the seizure of 12 kg gold and ₹13 crore during the IT raids in his house, DMK treasurer Durai Murgan asked if the CM would resign if he could not prove his claims. The Chief minister made remarks against the DMK leader during electioneering for Sulur assembly seat on Thursday. Duraimurugan said that the Chief Minister must resign if he could not prove his allegations. According to his allegations, a sum of Rs 13 crore and 12 kg of gold was seized during IT raids.

“If the CM proves that the gold and cash were seized from my property, I will resign my post,” Durai Murugan said. “Only ₹10 lakh was taken from our college and house. The property from which ₹13 crore was recovered does not belong to us. No gold was seized during the search. It is clear in the panchnama of the IT officials,” he added.
