A clash erupted between two parties in Gujarat's Kutch district over raising funds for the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya. One of them has died. Many have been injured.
Forty people have been arrested in connection with the clash. They have been charged with 4 cases including murder and rioting.
Certain organizations had decided to launch a fundraising campaign, called ‘Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir Nirman Dhan Sangrah Abhiyan’ for the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya from January 15 in Madhya Pradesh. This group was allegedly attacked by people from a particular community in Chandan Khedi village of the Indore district on Tuesday. Following this, the police fired tear gas and brought the situation under control. Police said the group had not received any permission for the procession.
