Rajinikanth meets Edappadi Palaniswami

Superstar Rajinikanth today called on Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and invited him to his younger daughter Soundarya's wedding in Chennai. The meeting took place at the CM's residence at Greenways Road in the city. Speaking to reporters later, the superstar said Palaniswami assured him that he would attend the wedding. Soundarya's wedding with entrepreneur-actor Vishagan will happen on Monday. Pre-wedding celebrations started on February 8. Recently, just days after S Thirunavukkarasar was dropped from the post of Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president, Rajinikanth called on him, paving way for various speculations in Tamil Nadu political arena.

Adding more spice to the guessing games was the presence of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi president Thol Thirumavalavan at Thirunavukkarasar's residence at Anna Nagar in Chennai, when the superstar went there. However, the air was cleared soon when it was stated that Rajini went there to invite Thirunavukkarasar for Soundarya's wedding and Thirumavalavan's presence there at that time was just a coincidence.

Also, Thirunavukarasar too has said he would not quit Congress and join the political party to be floated by Rajinikanth. "He will invite me to his party. And, even if he invites me, I won't join. I will continue in Congress," Thirunavukkarasar said. But still, it was predicted that politics were discussed during the meeting between Rajini, Thirunavukkarsar and Thirumavalavan, and things would come out in open soon. Rajinikanth had also invited DMK president M K Stalin, Makkal Needhi Maiam president Kamal Haasan and other leaders to his daughter's wedding.
