Flying squad officials of the Election Commission of India coducted a search at a hotel room where DMK president M K Stalin was set to stay in Thoothukudi. Stalin is currently in Ottapidaram, campaigning for his party's by-election candidate Shanmugaiah. He was set to stay in a hotel tonight in Korampallam.
Ahead of his stay, flying squad officials conducted search at the hotel. Reports said the raid was conducted following allegations of distribution of money to voters. Ever since the elections were announced, EC officials and Income Tax authorities have been conducted searches across Tamil Nadu, it is to be noted.
