The election flying squad and a team from the Income Tax Department conducted raids at the MLAs hostel in Chennai last night. Reportedly, rooms of AIADMK Minister RB Udayakumar and two other leaders were searched. The raids, according to local media reports, began at around 10 pm on the 10th floor in C-Block, and went on till 12.30 am. The names of the other MLAs haven’t yet been disclosed by authorities.
Meanwhile, sleuths of Income-Tax reportedly seized over Rs 14.18 crore and documents worth Rs 112 crore after raiding PSK Engineering Construction Company in Namakkal. The raids were conducted by a special team from Delhi and concluded after three days. The private engineering company carried out Government Infrastructure projects on a contract basis.
