DMK candidate for Thoothukudi, Kanimozhi is campaigning vigorously in the constituency. With just three days to go for polls, she was seen visiting places and interior villages to seek votes. Pitted against her in the AIAMDK combine is BJP candidate and State unit president of the party Tamilisai Soundararajan. She too is campaigning hard. A couple of days ago, Kanimozhi witnessed a jolt when her campaign van was not allowed to enter south Mayilodai village.
Angry residents of the village picked up an argument with her over the alleged casteist remark by a member of her party. She tried hard to persuade them. There was angry exchange f words. She was trying to explain her stand. However the people surrounded her van and even started raising slogans, Unable to control the situation, she made sure that she left the place in the van without campaigning.
