Protect Tamils in Lanka: Stalin tells PM Modi

Taking exception to the reported deployment of armed military personnel en masse and erasing of Tamil street names in Tamil dominated areas after Gotabaya took over as President, Stalin said the Tamils were ‘disappointed’ and ‘shocked’ by the spurt in attack on Tamil Nadu fishermen and haste with which Colombo has started offending Tamils and undermining their self-respect.

Advising the Union government to closely watch the emergency like situation of Tamils after the formation of the new regime by Rajapaksa and family, Stalin said that the Modi regime should give serious thought to the evolution of the situation and take necessary action to ensure that Eelam Tamils lead a dignified and peaceful life with rights guaranteed in the Constitution and secure the solution desired by them.
