The State Government bus of Kerala was traveling from Bangalore to Thiruvananthapuram with 48 passengers. The bus crashed into a container truck when it approached Avinashi at around 3 am this morning.
The accident killed 20 passengers on the bus. Some of the injured passengers have been hospitalized.
Prime Minister Modi has offered his condolences to the families of the victims of the Avinashi bus accident. Prime Minister Modi's office posted on his Twitter page: -
"Extremely anguished by the bus accident in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruppur district. In this hour of grief, my thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families. I hope those who are injured recover at the earliest".
