A day after her brother and party's deputy secretary met the press and slammed the DMK, the party's treasurer Premalatha Vijaykant launched a fiery attack on the Dravidian party on Friday.
At a press meet held in the party's headquarters in Chennai, Premalatha termed the DMK as a 'Thillu Mullu Party' (fraud party) and accused the party of political conspiracy against the DMDK.
Also, she made derogatory remarks against journalists when she was addressing them on Friday. Media organisations and political leaders have condemned Premalatha for this.
CPM State secretary K Balakrishnan said Premalatha had addressed journalists in singular and had abused their duty. The CPM will like to indicate that it is not public decency to do so, he said.
Talking about the alliance, she said, “The upcoming election is for parliament. Hence, if we want to do something good for the State, we should get an electoral alliance with any national party like the AIADMK that had won 37 seats in the last parliament election but what’s the use? That’s why the DMDK wants to get into an alliance with the national party BJP.”
She said the DMDK never talked alliance with the DMK, that she had only said DMK president M K Stalin had talked politics when he visited her husband Vijayakanth and she did not say they discussed poll alliance.
