The Wing Commander Abhinandan Vardhaman, who was detained by Pakistan Army yesterday is the son of Simmakutty Vardhaman, who is a residentof Madambakkam near suburban Tambaram.
Simmakutty Vardhaman, a retired IAF official, was at present staying in the IAF residential quarters 'Jalvayu Vihar' in Madambakkam. Sources say ever since the news of the detention broke out, people thronged in large numbers to his house and consoled the family. Also politicians and media personnel have been thronging the area. Even DMDK's Premalatha Vijayakanth visited the house. As a result, police protection has been provided to the house. Cops have been stationed in large numbers at his house.
