As the fear of coronavirus spreads all across the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted today that he would not be taking part in this year's Holy celebrations to avoid mass gatherings.
"Experts across the world have advised to reduce mass gatherings to avoid the spread of COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus. Hence, this year I have decided not to participate in any Holi Milan programme," Modi wrote on social networking site Twitter.
So far there have been six cases of deadly novel coronavirus in India, the Union Ministry of Health said on Tuesday.
Narendra Modi mentioned in a series of tweets that he has reviewed India's readiness to tackle the global pandemic. "Had an extensive review regarding preparedness on the COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus. Different ministries & states are working together, from screening people arriving in India to providing prompt medical attention," PM Modi wrote.
