Plan to set up plants at Rs 50 thousand crore - Advisory Meeting chaired by Chief Minister

The meeting was held at the Chief Minister's residence at Greenways Road in Chennai where Minister for Industrial Department MC Sampath, Chief Secretary Shanmugam and others were present. 
Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy, who was on a tour to the US, had in principle signed a deal with Haldia Petrochemicals.
 
Now the company is planning to set up a petroleum refinery and petrochemical plant with a total investment of Rs 50 crore in Cuddalore. The Chief Minister consulted with Haldia Chairman Purnendu Chatterjee and Managing Vice President Rabin Mukhopadhyay for this. With the approval to set up an oil refinery at Tuticorin worth Rs 49,000 crore, a new plant is already planned in Cuddalore.
