Piyush Goyal to meet Vijayakanth for alliance talks?

Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Piyush Goyal, who is the election in-charge of the party in Tamil Nadu, is likely to visit Chennai this week for alliance talks with the parties here.

According to sources, during his visit, Goyal, besides meeting All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leaders, will also meet Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam president Vijayakanth. It is to be noted that Vijayakanth, after staying in the United States for the past some weeks, where he received medical treatment, returned to Chennai only on Saturday. Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam cadres accorded a warm reception to their leader Vijayakanth when he returned from the United States to Chennai on Saturday, after getting medical treatment there for two months.

They gathered in large numbers from the city airport to his Saligramam residence and raised slogans in support of the 'Captain'. Last week, his party confirmed it is holding talks with the ruling AIADMK and the BJP ahead of the general election. It says its leader, Vijayakanth, will announce its decision by the end of the month.

Speaking to the media, LK Sudhish, the deputy secretary of the DMDK, said, "DMDK is the most sought-after party during elections. We are holding talks with AIADMK, BJP and a few more parties."
