Though all main roads have a by-pass, unfortunately Manimangalam High Road lacks pone. As a result there is heavy traffic flow here. Especially lorries laden with M sand, brick and other constriction materials sped pass the stretch. It leads to choc-o-bloc traffic. Also these lorries go in top speed and over-loaded lorries pose threat to safety of pedestrians, school children and senior citizens.
These lorries loaded more cause damage to road. The smoke that they emenate affect the environment and health of villagers. Parents are afraid to send their children out because of these lorries. Though there is a court order that these lorries should be thoroughly checked and a check post be set up to monitor their movements, no efforts have been taken by authorities here.
Residents of Manimangalam want the State government to take immediate action.
