Olympic Games in Tokyo might be cancelled if coronavirus is not controlled?

The Olympic Games are scheduled to take place in Japan's capital Tokyo from July 24 to August 9.

At the same time, the coronavirus, which has spread in China, is threatening the entire world. Concern is rising over the impact of coronavirus on the Olympic Games, following confirmation of new cases in Japan.

A senior member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) said the Games would be unambiguously cancelled instead of postponed or relocated if the disease proved too dangerous for the event.

The infectious outbreak that began two months ago in China has infected more than 80,000 people worldwide and killed more than 2,700 people, the great majority of them in China. But the virus has taken root in South Korea, the Middle East and Europe, drawing up pandemic fears. Japan itself has had four deaths reported.
