Mukesh Kumar Singh, Pawan Kumar Gupta, Vinay Kumar Sharma and Akshay Kumar Singh were sentenced to life imprisonment for the brutal gangraped and assault of medical student Nirbhaya in Delhi. That was affirmed by the High Court of Delhi and the Supreme Court. In this case, the guilty plea, review petitions and adjournment petitions have been postponed twice due to altered and filed petitions.
On behalf of Vinay Sharma, a petition was filed before the Supreme Court seeking for the reconsideration of the rejected mercy plea.
