The film was sold for a whopping budget of 43Cr. S Pictures Seenu and Kanthasamy Arts Raja Mannar by Boney Kapoor’s Bayview Project LLP. The film released on August 8 had positive reviews from early press shows and premiere show in Singapore. This created a sudden hype for the film’s bookings and it became a raging opening. Finally, the film’s overall share of distributors is Rs. 47Cr and is expected to wind up with 50Cr as the lifetime collection.
The distributors and exhibitors are completely enthralled by this astounding box office collection and it has already created a profitable run in other states and worldwide as well. It is noteworthy that for a film like VEDALAM that was a commercial flick released on festive occasion of Diwali, the film’s share profit was Rs. 50Cr. This has created a new gate opener for Tamil film industry, where a content driven film with such a big star power has transformed the scenario.
