The Food Security Standards Organization of the central government is implementing a program of FOC certification to improve the quality of temple offerings(Prasadam).In this case, the rice and offerings given in the Nellayappar, kanthimathi amman temple, have been examined and given credentials.
Yagna Narayanan, Executive Officer of the Nelliappar Temple, said that the samples was tested from the temple offerings and the Annadhanam and subsequently that provided the proof.
This certificate is presented to the temple administrators by the District Collector during on the Republic Day celebrations.
