Nayanthara thanks MK Stalin for removing Radha Ravi from DMK

Actress Nayanthara has thaked DMK president M K Stalin for temporarily suspending veteran actor Radha Ravi from the party for slut-shaming her on stage at the audio launch of her film Kolaiyuthir Kalam recently. In a press release, she said, 'I want to remind Radha Ravi and the likes of misogynists that that they were also given brith by a woman. By demaning the status of women and passing demenaing comments , these retarded men get a feeling of machoism.'

Meanwhile after the DMK suspending him for his speech, Radha Ravi today expressed regret over his comments.  'If there is any harm to the party because of me, I myself will opt out of the DMK. My words were misunderstood. I express my regret for them,' he said. As an actor of considerable seniorty, Radha Ravi should have set an example for being a role model, rather he chose to be a misgonyistic role model, she said and added, 'When actors like Radha Ravi fall out of business and becomes irrelevant, they rely on cheap popularity tactics in order to grab some limelight'.

'I would like to strongly register my complaint and condemnation against derogatory speeches made by Radha Ravi against women in general, she said. She finally questioned Nadigar Sangam whether internal complaints committee as per Court's directive and hold internal enquiry as per Vishaka Committee'. Speaking at the event, Radha Ravi said, "Nayanthara acts as a ghost, and then she goes on to act as Sita as well. She acts as Goddess Sita. Earlier, to play the role of a goddess, they would look for someone like KR Vijaya. Now, anyone can be cast to play a goddess. They can cast someone who you want to pray to when you look at them, they can also cast someone you want to call towards you when you see them'.

Talking about Pollachi sexual crime case, He said, 'These days, people do not understand the difference between a big film and small film. A small film is where one guy rapes another girl. A big film is where 40 women are raped like the Pollachi issue. This is the difference.'
