Modi in Chennai for mega election campaign meeting

In his fourth visit to Tamil Nadu within a month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Chennai today to attend a mega rally of the BJP and its alliance partners. The rally will also be attended by leaders of other National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parties from Tamil Nadu, including All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) leaders K Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam, Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) leaders S Ramadoss and Anbumani Ramadoss and Puthiya Tamilagam chief Krishnasamy.

Tamil Nadu BJP President Tamilisai Soundararajan has confirmed the visit of the prime minister. "The mega rally on March 6 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be a turning point in Tamil Nadu politics. Alliance leaders of NDA will share stage with our Prime Minister," Soundararajan said. She also chaired a meeting of party senior functionaries and discussed the arrangements to be made. BJP sources said more than a lakh cadre from Chennai and surrounding districts are expected to attend the meeting. A grand reception to the Prime Minister is also arranged on March 6.
The mega rally is touted to be a show of strength of the NDA alliance in Tamil Nadu.

While the PMK, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) are on board the alliance, sources say GK Vasan's TMC and Vijayakanth's DMDK will soon be part of this alliance.
