Minister mocks Kamal, asks him to defeat NOTA first

Makkal Needhi Maiam founder-president Kamal Haasan's recent comments, that his party was gearing up for contesting all 40 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the coming Parliamentary polls, have been mocked by the ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. Speaking to the media in Chennai, senior AIADMK leader and Fisheries Minister D Jayakumar said, "Let Kamal first NOTA first." He said this when reporters asked him about Kamal's remarks about contesting alone.

Speaking to reporters recently, the actor-turned-politician said, "Our aim is to not go with any tainted group. We are preparing to contest 40 seats in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. I cannot say at this moment from where I will contest." Kamal launched Makkal Needhi Maiam at a public meeting in Madurai on 21 February 2018. He also unveiled the party flag. The flag is symbolised by six interlocked hands, meant to represent co-operation between the Southern states of India (5 States and 1 Union Territory).

Meanwhile on the professional front, Kamal is busy with Indian 2 directed by Shankar. A sequel to his 1995 hit Indian, the film is being bankrolled by Lyca. Kajal Aggarwal is the heroine, while music is by Anirudh.
