Chief Minister Edappadi K Palniswami and Deputy Chief Miniseter O Panneeselvam paid rich tributes to AIADMK Founder and late Chief Minister Bharat Ratna MGR on the occasion of his birth anniversary on Thursday. Palaniswami and Panneerselvam, accompanied by party MLAs and Ministers, garlanded the state of MGR at the Dr MGR Medical University campus in Guindy and also paid floral tributes to a decorated portrait of the late leader.
A special commemorative coin with the image of MGR was also released on the occasion. At the Party Headquarters at Avvai Shanmugam Salai, Palaniswami and Panneerselvam garlanded the statue of MGR and late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and distributed sweets to party cadres, who had thronged in large numbers. They also distributed welfare measures on the occasion.
