The Swachh Survekshan 2020 ranking was announced by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs on Tuesday.
The Center for the Cleanliness,has released the Low-Population Cities category in the southern region, which has the top three places in the southern region of Tamil Nadu,T.Kallipatti of Madurai district, Melathiruppanthuruthi of Thanjavur, and Narasingapuram of Tiruvallur district.
The Swachh Survekshan 2020 ranking for cities on cleanliness was released by Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri. In the quarterly results for the two quarters of April-June and July-September, the three cities of Tamil Nadu in the southern region of the country with a population of over 25 thousand have been ranked in the top three.The first quarter cleanliness in urban areas with a population of 50 thousand to 1 lakh has been awarded to Namakkal in Tamil Nadu.
Similarly, Parangimalai Cantonment of Tamil Nadu tops the first quarter cleanliness in Cantonment Board areas. According to Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri, "Even small towns and cities in Tamil Nadu are maintaining good cleanliness."
