Kannagi Nagar Police Boys and Girls Club gets library

As part of their Each-one Teach-One programe, the KCG Student Chapter of EWB (Engineers without Borders) has inaugurated a Library at the Police Boys and Girls Club at Kannagi Nagar, OMR, Chennai. EWB (Engineers without Borders)-KCG Student chapter was started on 4 February, 2017 to carry out the activities with the mission of EWB – India. and has done a slew social outreach programmes.

‘Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Library’ presently consists of over 550 Tamil & English story books, comic books, text books, weekly/monthly magazines, technical and competitive exam books and can be accessed by the residents of the locality and members of the Boys and girls Club. J11 Kannagi Nagar Police Boys and Girls Club started in 2011 has been witnessing a flurry of activities. The club, which began as part of outreach effort by the police to check delinquency and ensure that the youth of the city do not veer towards a life of crime, have diversified the gamut of activities and benefits offered.

With wide, neatly laid roads and multi-storied apartments, Kannagi Nagar, off Chennai's Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR) is home to many people who were relocated from various parts of Chennai.
