MNM Party president Kamal Haasan met the DGP to request immediate action to be taken grant justice to the women of Pollachi, who were sexually assaulted and blackmailed. The case of alleged serial sexual assault and blackmail of scores of women by a gang, suspected to be politically influential in Pollachi, has sent shock waves across Tamil Nadu.
26-year-old Thirunavukkarasu, a financier who was arrested on March 5 for sexually assaulting a college girl in Pollachi along with three of his friends, says in a video, "I would like to say one thing to the department (police), you have filed one false case based on version of one girl, remaining 99 are working for me. please don't trouble them. I will surrender voluntarily after the case is over."
