Jiiva thrilled to make Bollywood debut

Actor Jiiva had a couple of releases last year - Sangili Bungili... and Kalakalappu 2. The actor has completed shooting for Gorilla and Gypsy. The big news is that he is making foray in Bollywood. He will be playing veteran cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth role in the Hindi film 1983 World Cup. A major portion of the movie will be shot in London and the entire team will be camping there for 100 days. Ranveer Singh plays Kapil Dev’s role in the film which is scheduled to release on 30 August, 2019. It is directed by Kabir Khan.

Says Jiiva, 'I am in no rush to sign movies. If my character is good and the script is convincing, I would take it up'. 
'I am an avid cricket buff. I have played several local matches and even been in winning teams.  When I got the opportunity to play ace cricketer Srikkanth and that too in my debut Hindi film, I was thrilled. I consider this as a big honour. I am looking forward to the day when I stand in front of the camera for 83', he says and adds, 'I am also part of Super Good Films' 90th production venture. I share the screen with Arulnithi. The title will be revealed soon'.
