Jaya house case : AIADMK to go on appeal

The AIADMK will file an appeal againstthe Madras High Court order quashing the acquisition of lateleader J Jayalalithaa's Poes garden residence "Veda Nilayam"to convert it into a memorial. Talking to reporters at Salem, party co-coordinator EdappadiK Palaniswami said  Jayalalithaa's house was a temple forthe AIADMK cadres and the party will file an appeal againstthe High Court order.

Converting the house into a memorial was the 'wholehearteddesire' of the AIADMK party workers. On a petition filed by Jayalalithaa's niece J Deepa and nephewJ Deepak, the High Court quashed the order issued by the previousAIADMK government acquiring Veda Nilayam and also directed thatthe house should be handed over to them in three weeks. Following the court order, both Deepa and Deepak fileda petition before the Chennai Collector demanding handing overof the keys of the house to them.
