India defeats West Indies to win series

India chased 315 set by West Indies successfully at Cuttack to win the third ODI and thereby winning the series 2-1. The openers Rohit Sharma and K L Rahul made a good start and it was skipper Virat Kohli who top scored with 85 to ensure a win. Credits to a good partnership stand by Jadeja with Kohli and a swashbuckling knock towards the end by Shardul Thakur made sure India won.

Earlier batting first, the visitors managed 315 runs with Pooran scoring 89. A disappointed West Indies captain Pollard said, We live in a result oriented world where results matter. But I'm proud of the guys. The total attitude from the team. Yes we lost, but well played to India. We competing with them was fantastic. There's a lot of exciting talent in West Indies. It's just a matter of expressing ourselves. There's a lot to look forward to in the future.
