Ilayaraja 75 at YMCA Grounds in Nandanam saw who's who of Tamil cinema attend in large numbers. Among them were Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. Speaking on the occasion, Rajinikanth called Ilayaraja as Swamigal, who has spiritual inclinations. In a lighter vein, he said, 'Ilayaraja has always given wonderful songs to Kamal Haasan than him'. Among his songs for him, Rajinikanth said, 'I always liked Pothuvaga En Manasi U from Murattu Kaalai and Raman Aandalum Ravana in Ullum Malarum'.
Rajinikanth said, 'It was Ilayaraja who introduced me to Ramanaj Maharishi and I am indebted to him for that's. Thanking Rajini, Ilayaraja said, ' There is always one and only SuperStar in cinema and that is Rajinikanth'.
